“Westy” is certainly one of the most colourful identities of the Victorian enthusiast fraternity. Sad that his ongoing health issues aren’t likely to improve.

“Westy” was one of the “beans” who gathered at the Model Dockyard after work on Thursdays before repairing to licensed premises for refreshment. Model Dockyard owner and manager, Peter Duckett, would scowl when he heard the noisy “beans” shuffling down the Dockyard stairs but his tune would change when he saw the “beans” opening their wallets and making a pay day instalment on their lay bays – usually for quality brass locomotives, etc.

A beautiful midsummer day 16th February 1992, a Yapper Tours day out with Yapper 469, Greg Fitzgerald the driver. A couple of photos taken on a break, I think for lunch, at South Melbourne Beach. I'm pretty sure that those three beers are for Greg Dixon, Graeme Westwood [Westy] and myself. Westy not doing too well now and I believe will not get any better. Westy in much better days, Bowen QLD 1964.
