RE: Passing of Graeme Inglis
  pn1

Graeme was one of the many enthusiasts who attended Box Hill High School in the early 1960s. He was born in April 1948 and our families lived two streets apart in Surrey Hills. We were two years apart at school. He would have attended 1960-1965. At the same time, Graeme and his family were regulars at St Stephen’s Presbyterian Church at Surrey Hills. He was also a Friday night regular at “Wingrove” in Mont Albert. Our paths crossed recently at the BTPS 50th anniversary luncheon. Graeme was a retired school teacher as is my partner Robyn. They enjoyed some professional banter as we all partook of luncheon at Sebastopol. As Kactus has mentioned, Graeme was very active in the early days of the BTPS but stepped back due to work and family commitments. Graeme was also heavily involved in the Light Railway Railway Research Society and I understand Frank Stamford is preparing a fitting obituary for the society magazine.

Graeme’s passing was sudden and unexpected. Condolences to his family.

Confirmation that none of us knows what’s around the corners so we must enjoy life as best we can and while we can.

RIP Graeme Inglis 1948-2021.

Thanks, Kevin.

I’m sorry to hear of Graeme’s passing. We had a bit of fun in the early days of the BTPS.

Greetings All

Graeme was a semi regular contributor to the group with wide tramway knowledge

He left us suddenly for that big car barn in the sky, last Wednesday evening.

He was involved in Puffing Billy as a volunteer earlier but when the Ballarat Tramway Museum was established he was among the early shakers.

As his family grew up he made a large contribution to their welfare and education.

In recent times he was the President / Secretary of the Model Tramway Association of Victoria and the production of their bi monthly news sheet

was largely buy his own hand.

Vale Graeme,

Regards

Kevin
