Not a great picture of the trams, but it does show some interesting
detail about the routes at that time.

Route 11 was (and is) to West Preston.  It now runs from Collins St, but
until October 1930 it went north up Swanston St then across to St
Georges Rd via the Brunswick Rd / Holden St line.

The sign on the lamp post includes Coburg.  That route now runs in
Elizabeth St (East Coburg still runs in Swanston St).  The Coburg trams
switched to Elizabeth when the Elizabeth St cable trams were converted
in 1935.

Mal Rowe in a city where route numbers are long term
