Stefan Calvert: Frankston train creep blames sex acts on thrush. Jon Andrews July 2, 2021 Frankston Standard Leader
Snake on a train: A vile V/Line passenger who did dirty deeds with his daks around his ankles says he is “very, very sorry”.
A vile V/Line passenger who performed dirty deeds with his daks around his ankles says he is “very, very sorry” for his disgusting behaviour.
A sexually depraved pervert who played with himself in public view of a terrified train commuter has been placed on the sex offenders register.
Stefan Calvert kept on moving around a carriage before sitting close to a woman passenger and touching his genitalia in a sick sex act.
The unemployed 52-year-old pleaded guilty to directing sexual activity and stalking charges at the Frankston Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
The court heard on January 25 this year Calvert got on the Shepparton to Melbourne V/Line train.
He initially sat quite far away from the woman, the only other person in the first class carriage, but then got up and moved around before settling on a seat nearer to her.
She had a nap, but then woke up feeling uneasy.
She turned to look through the gap between her seats to see Calvert performing a sex act with his pants down with his underwear around his ankles.
She was scared and shocked, but felt too frightened to call police and instead texted her mum to meet her at the next station.
The train stopped at Seymour and the terrified victim got off and ran towards V/Line staff for help.
One of the workers then went to the carriage and through a window saw Calvert touching his genitalia in an “up and down motion”.
Police soon arrived and he was arrested.
Calvert denied doing anything wrong and was bailed.
But later the same day he called police and said he may have been touching his groin area, but that was because it was itchy and he had been applying cream to treat a bout of thrush.
The woman’s victim impact statement was read aloud in court, revealing she now suffered insomnia and continually replayed the incident in her mind.
She said she has an underlying level of anxiety, was hypervigilant and struggled to travel anywhere on her own.
Calvert told the court he had “no intention of hurting anyone” and was “very, very sorry for distressing the lady”.
His lawyer Sohka Um said his client was a “pleasant and caring man” and was extremely remorseful for his actions.
He said he had serious issues with alcohol addiction, which he was now getting treatment for.
Magistrate Charles Tan said he would not have accepted the thrush explanation, and was still in the dark over why Calvert acted the way he did other than him saying he had been drinking that weekend.
“There was obviously a female in the carriage with you,” Mr Tan said.
“She saw what you did, and it had a considerable adverse effect on her.
“She felt very much trapped, she was concerned what it might escalate to, as to what danger she was in.”

Calvert was ordered to do an 18-month community corrections order with 150 hours of unpaid work and undertake alcohol and sex offender programs.
He was also placed on the sex offenders register for eight years.

Camms Road level crossing: Labor to remove 18 homes. Hugo Timms July 2, 2021 Cranbourne Leader 18 comments
The state government promised in 2018 no homes would be removed to make way for a Cranbourne level crossing removal. Come 2021, 18 families face an uncertain future.
The proposed design for Cranbourne's Camms Road level crossing.
A group of Cranbourne residents will be forced out of their homes to make way for a bridge over a railway line — despite the state government promising no homes would be removed.
In 2018, in the lead-up to the state election, Premier Dan Andrews said the removal of the level crossing on Camms Rd would not lead to the forced removal of locals.
In plans recently released by the state government 18 homes would need to be removed.
Chair of administrators at Casey, Noelene Duff, said: “Cranbourne residents deserve a better outcome than an imposing bridge that removes so many homes,”
The Cranbourne line is undergoing major work, including a new station at Merinda Park and the duplication of the railway.
The state government has promised the $1b project would allow trains to run every 10 minutes.
But Ms Duff said the design for Camms Road would “sever connectivity across the rail corridor”.
She said the council instead advocated for the railway line to be elevated, which would have been better for motorists and helped to retain the community feel.
On the Level Crossing Removal Project, the government said the removal of the crossing would free up traffic and address safety concerns.
But Casey chief executive Glenn Patterson insisted the government’s proposal was a “disservice” to residents.
“Casey residents have waited long enough for dangerous level crossings to be removed and don’t deserve a solution that will impact another critical infrastructure project,” he said.
A media release by the City of Casey urged concerned residents to contact Cranbourne state Labor MP Pauline Richards.
Ms Richards has been contacted for comment.
* Given that the Cranbourne line is going to be extended to at least Clyde and as a result, the Cranbourne Station will need to be rebuilt, either like Springvale, under the South Gippsland Hwy or Noble Park, on Skyrail, I think a bit more forward planning is needed now, not later. Get it right first time or pay the penalty.
* Could not run a raffle little low a State
* More lies damned lies and statistics from CCP Dan
* Another labor lie
* sounds like his 'promise' that tearing up the East West link contract wouldn't cost Victorians anything! Wait until the next election starts ramping up - are gullible Vics going to believe anything he 'promises'???
* Never believe a fool!
* So somewhere that actually wants a Slyrail doesn't get one, while those who don't want one get one forced on them.  There's the "open and transparent government" Dan promised you when he was first elected - an outright lie at the time, as has been everything he's said since.
* So this comes as no surprise Dan backflipping again after he is elected.
* Andrews has back teeth and he lies through them every day!
* Residents complaining that they are not getting sky rail? How the tide has turned!
* Interesting, they actually want an elevated rail line so let's build a bridge over the line instead.
* More Labor lies. They would have known all along the houses needed to be demolished.
* Lie, deny, deflect. Labor DNA
* Vote them out
* Standard Labor: Maximum propaganda, spin and outright lies; minimum substance. The whole project has been done at the cheapest and nastiest level, leaving a disaster legacy for the next 100 years, long after the current politicians have vanished.
* Andrews misled voters?…. No way!
* has Dan broken another election promise, is anyone surprised?
* Do you think they care?
* Never ever trust Dan!
