Re: Melbourne CBD tram services to be curtailed on Saturday
  Andrew Cook

Would be good to get some shots of those short shunts Mal, but it will be impossible if you're not a local (living within 10 kms). As a consolation prize, if you watch the evening news of late, there has been some spectacular drooly shots of trams running down virtually carless streets. One last night on ABC had an E class approaching as a B2 clattered across, at the intersection behind it, and another was of an E screeching around the curves at William and LaTrobe Streets as the reporter babbled on outside the cop shop. More please!

Cheers,
Andrew Cook (appreciating the tramway action from afar).

Subject: [TramsDownUnder] Melbourne CBD tram services to be curtailed on Saturday

Public transport access to the Melbourne CBD will be banned from 8am to
2pm on Saturday at the rerquest of Police.

Here's the Yarra Trams notice to employees.

Route 57 makes it to the fringe of the CBD - I assume there will be a
strong police presence there.
