Here are a couple of pics showing the location of the planned Maidstone Depot and maintenance facility for the "F class" trams.

The first pic shows 117 turning from Williamson Rd into the reserved track just east of Wests Rd.  Those curves will presumably be replaced by a triangle junction to connect to the depot, which will be just over the intersection of Williamson Rd and Wests Rd at the traffic lights.

Second pic shows what I assume will be the entrance to the depot and the large area of land beyond.  It was the site of the Pyrotechnic Factory during WW2, then became a migrant hostel post war.

The stone cairn has a bronze plaque marking the opening of the site as a "Student Village" in 1990.  It was targetted at International students attending Victoria University and RMIT, but never succeeded in getting adequate numbers and was closed a few years back.
