Good stuff, Mal.

I remember going on an impromptu school excursion on a Saturday to Magpie, which was south of Sebastopol. There would have been a dozen or so kids with a teacher who happened to be the principal, Slugger McCarthy.

I don't remember the trip to Sebas but the trip back would have been on the Saturday arvo and we had single trucker 11. The driver must have been in a hurry as he gunned it along Albert St with the result it was bucking and swaying along the single track.

Happy days.

Sixth and final post for now ...

Last pics before heading home were made in Lydiard St North.

The light was fading as 27 entered the passing loo at Gregory St. The Lydiard St North terminus is visible in the distance - at the cemetery gates.

A few minutes later, 27 clattered across the railway crossing and entered the only bit of conventional double track in Ballarat - between the railway and Sturt St.

Mal - who was happy but weary at the end of a long trammy day
