It wouldn't happen these days of course  but NSW Tramways actually built Leichhardt Depot which was to service new lines in outer (in those days) North Western Sydney prior to the lines being constructed (wonder how they got that past NSW Treasury!).  The lines were never built (buses, private cars and the depression) and Leichhardt never functioned as a traffic (ie operational) tram depot.
