* A TRAM that doesn't need tracks, Malcolm (S0/50, 18/5)? I'm an old Hobart boy from 1960 and can tell you trams without tracks were operating in the streets of Hobart around this time; they were called trolleybuses.
* THE plan to increase taxes in the state budget by some $2.7bn is coincidently a similar amount to the proposed expenditure on the Suburban Rail Loop. To my knowledge this project has not had a business case put forward to justify it Spending money on this project does not do anything to alleviate transport problems in regional Victoria.
