Sat.9.1.21 Melbourne 'Herald Sun' High heat hits VLine
VLINE will operate a full extreme-heat timetable across Victoria on Monday following predictions temperatures are set to soar into the low 40s in parts of the state.
Services affected would include the Geelong and Warrnambool lines and V/Line is asking passengers to check its website prior to travelling to confirm any changes.
A copy of the extreme-heat timetable can be downloaded from the V/Line website or passengers can ask for a copy from a staffed station. Passengers are encouraged to allow extra time for their journeys.
Extreme-heat speed restrictions are enforced when temperatures exceed 36C to reduce the likelihood of train and track faults, while also keeping passengers safe.
Real-time traffic conditions are at traffic.vicroads.vic.gov.au or via the VicTraffic mobile app, while public transport information is on ptv.vic. gov.au or in the PTV mobile app.
