Prague's second funicular
  TP

In addition to trams, buses, ferries and metro, DPP Prague also operates a
funicular up Petrin hill and a cableway at Prague Zoo. However, there is a
second funicular near Smichov (home of the former Tatra tram factory) and
adjacent to Mozart's house, operated by the NH Prague Hotel. The hotel has
a lower complex containing most of the accommodation, and an upper building
overlooking a spectacular view of Prague.

This funicular may also be termed an inclined elevator because you enter
and leave it through synchronised inner and outer sliding doors, just like
a lift. The presence of a wind vane suggests there may be some conditions
in which it doesn't operate! The views give a good picture of the sort of
terrain that the Prague tram system sometimes encounters in journeys to the
suburbs. On the vertigo scale, it reminds me of the Scenic Railway in
Katoomba, but it's self-levelling rather than giving you the impression
that you're going to be pitched forward into space any moment.
