Strictly speaking, the underfloor-engined Worldmaster and Regal IV single
deckers built in the 1950s through to 1961 were the tram replacement buses.
The double deckers were simply an inheritance from the 1930s and no more
were built after about 1950 and the remaining chassis were bodied as single
deckers.
