G'day Steve. Went and had a look at some others taken that day - quite a
few, but reading them - but this one of 732 seems to conform it is the
Carry On Appeal. This is probably affiliated to Legacy, whose appeal is
earlier in the year, but no doubt an appeal to help families over
Christmas. Legacy's site reveals "*In 1923 Legacy made a promise to help
veterans’ families carry on with their lives after the loss or injury of
their loved one. It was a simple promise that Legacy keeps today; providing
the same stability, guidance and assistance that a partner would normally
provide to his or her family* ."
The one of 503 seems to confirm this also, overdue for removal by this
stage. There was a joke at the time that this tram "The Donkey and the
Fiddle", the donkey was the artist and the fiddle was the arts grant he
received. Outrageous suggestion of course.
