RE: Brisbane Photo - 284

Mal's photo shows Racecourse Rd and Lancaster St junction at Eagle Farm racecourse.
I've managed to locate a Dick Jones photo from the last race day before closure, showing the pointsman and lever at Kingsford Smith Dve and Amy St, where race trams entered the Albion Park loop. The pointsman is watching the trams crossing Breakfast Creek Bridge and diverting the "Race Specials" into the double track loop, which went round the block and met KSD again at Agnes St. Trams could also enter Agnes St if Amy St was full but I'm not sure if there was a pointsmen there or the points were changed by the conductor. Robert Thompson would know.
The attached map extract shows the layout.

Cheers,
Mick in Brisbane

Manual - with a very attentive pointsman operating a roadside lever.

Mal Rowe - thanking 'James Renfrey' for the photo
