Interesting, has the constant criticism of the "overengineering" of the CSELR trackwork finally had a belated recognition byTfNSW?
The "cess area" (that is the area outside each of the rails across the trackwork) appears to be excessively wide compared to general international and Melbourne practice. Is this due to provision for road traffic or are we once again seing heavy rail designs being applied to light rail.
Will this "prototype track" remain in place for future use by the Parramatta LR, or is it just another expensive public relations exercise to be broken up after the media juggernaut moves on?
