29 November 1962 was a Thursday. It wouldn't be surprising to have a black
car at Mont Albert if there was a crew available; otherwise a double shunt
during the daytime would be unusual (not impossible if things were a bit
sticky and 490 had been short-shunted in the city on its previous trip, and
got ahead of 431. I don't think this is peak hour, because parking
restrictions were in place in peak hours,
I think the bundy clock was still on the second-last span pole on the left.
The milk bar on the right was a regular place for the trammies to grab a
snack or a coffee.
Very nostalgic for a Balwyn boy!
