Hey all,
Sorry guys, but Essendon could have E's on the 59 if the powers
that be wanted them to.E's can fit on every rd at Essendon except for 12 rd
which is a tight squeeze but could be used if in a pinch.6051 tested
clearances 2 years ago at most depots and there were no major problems. The
outside roads at Essendon could house at least 10 plus 2 each on most shed
rds. Also if a carpark was to be constructed above the outside rds,3 or 4
more roads could be built increasing the capacity.Another short term option
could be similar to what is proposed for the 58,whereas another depot could
help out such az S/B or possibly Bwk.Bottom line is it could be done. Also a
new timetabke could be put on the 57 and B's could replace the Z's and you
could explore the possibility of through routing the 57 with a Swanston st
service (via Flemington rd) maybe the 5 to lessen the amount of trams at
Essendon.
