Hi Andrew, is is good to hear an Aussie with print in his veins opine. My
mother in law got her first job in the 1940s with Arbuckle Waddell in
McKillop St city. Later she went to work in the 50s till the 90s at Port
Phillip Press in Glenhuntly Rd near Kooyoong Rd. My wife's first job was
at HG Graham Smith Printers at 666 Chapel St South Yarra, later leaving to
work at PATEFA, the Printing Trade Federation in Jolimont Rd where she was
involved in the Keep Printing in Australia Campaign.
I still look to see where something is printed. Typesetting was a real
art. I dips me lid.
