Interestingly the name Madeline Street was still current in the early
1960s, when I was at Melbourne University, where it seemed to be a
confusing synonym for the top bit of Swanston Street, but the only
address I knew (a group house opposite Newman College, where another
David Walker lived)) was definitely 912 Swanston Street, not Madeline
Street.
