Last single track in Melbourne ?

The terminus of the West Preston line in Melbourne is a single track stub around 100m long.

The attached shows the terminus and the yellow earth mover is just near the start of the double track.

The layout is determined by the need for a right turn lane into a side street for northbound to eastbound motorists at the traffic lights visible in the pic.

The length has encouraged some to consider it as Melbourne's last piece of single track.
