G'Day all. Just adding a family touch to our viewing. Details of the tour
have been long lost in the move. All I have is the photos and memories. I
took my first son Cameron with me on his first ride on a tram for this tour.
I had hoped he would grow up to be a big fan like myself. Unfortunately not.
Not that he didn't like them, he just likes tanks better. He now runs
Gippsland Tank Adventures inland from Toora. He and his younger brother
joined me on several other tours over the later years. That man holding my
son was probably me, but he looks so much different now than he did then.
An interesting thing happened on that tour that I remembered last week when
all the posting was on about the demise of the W3 series. We were stopped
somewhere when a W3 trundled past and a comment was made how you didn.t have
to look to recognise that it was a W3 because of the different sound. Why?
said I. Why does it sound different. Larger wheels, I was told. Oh says I
Sorry I was only a boy from the tramless outer suburbs. learned to keep my
trap shut around those that look down on those less knowledgeable.
Joining the discussion on the best looking tram. The Yapper would have to be
one of them. My VR drop centres from my boyhood and the A Class which to me
ticks all the boxes
Thanks for putting up with this drivel from someone who is learning all the
time from his peers on TDU.
