Regarding your second pic, I think that the large brick building is the former MMTB power supply for the Maribyrnong line. Judging by the rat's nest of wires outside it still performs the same function but perhaps now occupying much less space.

Melbourne's trams run much better with less motor traffic and (almost) no passengers!

Here are a couple of pics from my exercise walk today - conducted in accordance with guidelines from "Scotty from Marketing" as I understand them.

Yarra were kind enough to send along a tower wagon doing overhead inspection as I walked past the triple track in Union Rd Ascot Vale.

Second pic shows another Z3 cresting the hill as it crossed the North East railway in Maribyrnong Rd on its way to Footscray.
