Re: [Back On Topic]: All door loading

Unfortunately there's a Pavlovian issue involved. The habit (among older
people perhaps?) of heading for the front door may possibly be traced back
to the period when front door loading was tried on Melbourne trams and when
people become conditioned to that, it can take a long time for them to
become unconditioned. I saw a video once of one of the London artic buses
loading and it showed people boarding through the various doors except for
one last person who ran all the way past all the open doors to get on at
the front door! That's the problem with all these archaic practices. They
become set in people's minds and it takes a long time to cure that. In
Europe the front door on either type of vehicle seems to be mostly ignored
in favour of the other doors.
