A couple of great photos from a collection on display by the Kingsford

The second photo aptly illustrates a 250 passenger P class tram set
alongside a 70 passenger double deck bus that was considered to be a
"replacement" for the tram. Within about a decade of this photo, the nearby
University of NSW underwent explosive growth to quickly become the largest
university in Australia, soon after the public transport capacity that
served it was slashed by nearly half. Students took to driving and parking
out the surrounding streets. As I didn't have a car back then I spent five
years riding those wretched grinding, stinking, vibrating, slow loading
double deckers out there. Have despised British buses and the entire
philoosophy behind them ever since.
