In 2009, when Judith and I lived in South Melbourne, we took the 3 to the
Caulfield Cup, to see what it was like. We never saw it. The whole place
was full of vomiting drunks and there were no views of the track with our
$70 tickets! So we caught a 3 back about 2pm, and when the inspectors got
on a few stops along, we were almost the only people on the tram not just
sober, but with valdated tickets!
