In reality it would be very hard to nip through that opening with the big
sign-plate there. Skoda and CAF (I think) have a lift-up "bonnet", instead
of a removable panel, that effectively blocks off the opening. There's also
the driver's scrolling camera display inside the tram. I've yet to see
somebody take a shortcut across the coupling of a dog which is a far bigger
and more tempting space. In short, the tram manufacturers have already
addressed the issue.
