Subject: [TramsDownUnder] Canberra's big day.

G'day all. First let me start with an apology. I couldn't do a live update because of a technical malfunction. My brain wasn't in gear & I forgot my internet dongle thingo.
I also forgot my video camera ! Fair dinkum, if brains were electricity, I'd be a walking blackout. !

Anyway, the fog on the way to Canberra was a pea souper in places early this morning.
Arriving in Flemington rd as I passed each stop, a tram was waiting there. I parked the car near Gungahlin shops & went to take my first pics.

Two ladies in red asked me if I'd like to help them with a survey After admiring my love your trams t shirt they took a pic & said they might post it on their social media page!

The trams started running at 8am, if i knew that I'd have been on it !
So I caught the 2nd or 3rd one to alinga st.
The ride was smooth & fast between stops. I rode no 1 to the city & no 11 back.
After this I spent the rest of the time taking pics along the line.
With time fast running out, I concentrated on the Flemington rd corridor.

I've attached some pics, they show the interior of 001at Gungahlin, 001 at the Alinga terminus, a sign at a crossing at Gungahlin & a tram at a stop.

All in all a good day. More to come.

Regards,

Tim, back in Sydney.
