Way back when, I would have to imagine it was the early 50's, we had a good
friend who lived in the flats on the corner of Beaconsfield Parade. It was
my greatest thrill when we caught a 1A at Gilbert Rd that went all the way
through to Beaconsfield Pde. I remember that you had to pay one fare into
the City and then another after turning into Spencer St. I do remember that
the track ended at the tram stop. I never saw the curve to the Esplanade.
it wasn't that often. Much more common was to catch the tram into the City
and then a 15.

Long time ago and a place far away now.
