There were quite a few buses also running shuttles for the Western
Forecourt roadway, Was there any active attempt to direct passengers
to these buses?

G'day all, in regards to the L1 shuttle service to the ICC today &
tomorrow, I was at Central this morning and was going to board a tram
but there were lots of Hi Vis types around directing people
traffic. There were 3 trams in the colonnade when I was there. One just
outside, one inside & another pulled up behind it with ICC shuttle
only on the desto. My Wife & I waited for the next tram that was
going all the way to Dulwich Hill.
While I was there I took a few pix.
Regards,
Tim, in Sydney. (Counting the hours til Sunday)

Just to add more detail, they are expecting up to 16,000 people each
day at these concerts, so say 8,000 each concert. That's 80 tram-loads
for both, or 40 each concert, with 5 to 6 trams an hour (that's about
1,000-1,200 pax per hour) running on the line which is the only direct
PT service to ICC (the nearest train and bus alternatives are about 15
minutes walk away).
The former Sydney tram system could shift 60,000 per hour from a major
venue, CSELR is planned for 13,500 per hour. That puts the IWLR into a
bit of perspective. I'd say the train/bus/walking option will be doing
most of the work.
I forgot when I complimented IWLR on its dwell times the other day
that I did those surveys on the six-door Urbos 2s, not the current
four-door Urbos 3s. I guess I'll have to do another field trip!

How's that for turn up and go!  11 am is hardly peak hour, but then
on
the IWLR every hour seems to be peak hour!
