Back on topic, one day a tram driver at Kew Depot was involved in a
collision with an automobile, and upon returning to the Depot submitted the
required accident report. A short time later, he was summoned to the
manager's office and asked why he hadn't put the car's number plate on the
report.
"It didn't have a number plate." he replied,
"What do you mean 'it didn't have a number plate' ?" the clerk demanded,
"It must have had something to identify the car !",
to which the driver answered "No, just a crown."
