Many STA nnnn-ST buses have already been transferred over to private
operators; presumably they will stay there until the bus gets
de-registered.

MMTB buses got M (mauve-coloured) Vic Govt numberplates towards the
end. And ACTION buses had Z plates.
Sydney/NSW was one of the few bus systems that had plates specific to
buses (M/O & MO - now ST - what happens when they're "privatised"?
On Sat., 5 Jan. 2019, 13:19 Brian I think London trams were "Licensed
Stage Carriages" - "hackney" only applies to taxis.
