Well knock me over, Rover!

Recently Judith and I saw Ladies in Black, set in Christmas 1959 Sydney and
with many tram scenes filmed at Loftus.

I posted at the time that one fleeting scene in that fabulous movie was
actually of a Melbourne W2, and that it appeared just before a shot of a
policeman wiping his brow in the summer heat. Only a sad gunzel would have
spotted the misplaced Melbourne tram in that Sydney movie -- as for the
cop, I wasn't around then so didn't know whether he was a Sydney cop of
that era, or not.

Well, in the video Rod posted, that very misplaced Melbourne scene is right
there, only a minute or less into it. The W2 appears, and then the cop
wiping his brow, just as in Ladies in Black; then other Melbourne scenes.

So the producers of Ladies in Black actually lifted a scene from this 1958
promotional film and inserted it into a movie otherwise filmed in 2018 in
Sydney!

My daughter would tell me it is even sadder that I spotted the same scene
again like this :-(
