Tram Life Extension
  Mal Rowe

As readers of TDU know, Melbourne is running an extensive tram refurbishment program aimed at extending the serviceable life of trams by up to 15 years.

Here are a couple of examples of B2 class trams just out of that program.

It's an extensive refurbishment involving serious structural work and rust removal, but unfortunately not including upholstery replacement not stanchion re-finishing.

The B2s were built between 1987 and 1994 and are expected to stay in service until 2032.

Mal Rowe - glad to see the Bs will stay around
