The dreadnoughts were actually bogie trams. 99, a four whealer(single trucker), was called a baby dreadnought

I've always thought they were called "Silver Bullets," which is what Brisbane people called them when I was a kid.
They were also called "FMs", and the last eight of them "Phoenixes."
A particular class of Brisbane single-truckers were called Dreadnoughts. A kind of iron duke.
