Thousands flood tramlines as GC600 finishes
October 20, 2018 5:01pm
TRAM stations are overflowing as thousands flood from the GC600 venue this afternoon.

Police and security are monitoring the situation as crowds fill the Main Beach tram station, with many simply opting to walk.

Security have warned would-be passengers there’s no guarantee they’ll get a spot on the next tram by being on the platform.

Tensions are running high as some attempt to push their way past towards the trams.

Runaway Bay resident Joe Farr was waiting far back in the line but said he was glad the situation is controlled and moving.

“It’s not too bad, just a bit of a wait - that’s what happens when everyone leaves at once,” he said.

“It’s good to see it flowing but there’s still a lot of people here.”

Road traffic seems to still be flowing smoothly.
