I do wonder why they drip-feed these out. First there were to be 50 with an
option for 100 more. Instead of confirming the whole option, they ordered
20 more, then 10, and now, another 10.

It's not as if it would affect the government's books to have ordered the
remaining 70 in the option in one go (they are already a forward liability
in the books, and are only paid for as they are delivered, so the cash
position would not change). And ordering 70 would have ensured confidence
in their continuity of supply.

While it is nice to see the Bs being rebuilt for another quarter century of
service, the Zs are getting old (pushing 40 years now), though I was
pleasantly surprised by how quick and comfortable they still are when I
rode on a few last week.
