(Partially OT): Look back at Muni Heritage Weekend in SF
  Jeff Bennett

Sorry for the late recap, but know there might be some folks interested in
the scenes attached from last weekend's Muni Heritage Weekend in San
Francisco.

While it didn't make it out Saturday, 496 was running the E Line service on
Sunday. Only one shot of it, though.Sadly, 916 didn't make it out for the
weekend. Still a good showing with both Boats, Muni cars 1 and 578, and
"Zurich" 737 (a Brussels PCC tram in disguise) out along with a selection
of PCCs, a 1970s Flyer trolley coach, and a few buses. Muni 578 and 1 were
the stars of the show for the serious traction enthusiasts, but the Boats
seemed to attract the longest lines for the general public enjoying the
rides.

Not to wade too far OT, but since there's fans of cable traction here as
well, "original condition" cable car 42 did special runs both mornings on
Hyde St to Beach & Hyde, as well as the non-revenue connection to the
California St. line, with photo stops along the way. This was retracing a
line it used to run 60 odd years ago.

Finally, an off-topic shot of a Boat heading home on Saturday evening,
passing San Francisco's "other" famous bridge.

Enjoy,

-Jeff
