Re: New Video: Driver’s View Melbourne Tram 82 Footscray to Moonee Ponds. 27 minutes.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for all that interesting feedback. I will tidy it up slightly and send it to TDU. Shared stops may sound good in theory, but they have their shortcomings. It is ridiculous to hear that the bus stops do not actually say Bus. That’s what happens when you get managers from some other type of business trying to run public transport.

Unusually, I have been doing some work relating to my model tramway. This has been recorded and will be the basis of next week’s video. Time consuming, but an enjoyable break from videos videos videos.

Hope your weekend is enjoyable. With little sign of winter at all this year, another sunny day in the mid 20s will occur tomorrow. Suits me 😊🌞

I need to get moving and book my next trip south. Maybe December, more likely February. January too costly.

Bye,

Richard

Hi Richard,

Aside from the Casino shared stop, there is one in Malvern Road but it is the only one I know on this side of town. Of course at the separate but close by stops, people wait for the tram at bus stops. I have some sympathy for them because although the signs say Transdev and the route number, it is not terribly clear that they are bus stops. One passenger who I waited for to run from the bus stop said, you need to tell your managers that this is a problem, haha, as if they would take notice of me. Better that passengers make the complaint.

Buses using the tram tracks in Queensbridge do cause problems. One bus nearly hit my tram when I was leaving the Flinders Street stop where the buses move onto the tram track on Queensbridge, and if you have two buses in front of the tram with one turning left from Queensbridge Street into Power Street and one going straight ahead, well once I was significantly delayed.

Enjoy your weekend.

Andrew.
