11.32 Cranbourne/Pakenham lines: Minor delays (a citybound train vandalised, and having to terminate at Sandown Park).  Following citybound services may be delayed/altered due to this disruption.
In May 70, VR News Letter reported on maize from Mossiface being rail freighted to Toorak for the production of popcorn.
18.08 Mernda line: Minor delays (a trespasser on tracks at Thornbury).  Trains may be held.
- 18.41 Now major delays (police attending to a trespasser on tracks at Thornbury). Consider alternative transport: Tram route 86 from Bell to Clifton Hill.
- 19.31 Still major [showing as clearing, but not so].
- 21.04 The station has been open only for 5 minutes.
Frankston line: Buses replace trains to Caulfield from 20.15.  Express buses depart Burnley (take a Belgrave/Lilydale train).  All-stations buses depart from South Yarra (take a Sandringham train).

Footscray: Named after 'Foots Cray' in South East London.  Foots Cray is now in Borough of Bexley, and is approximately 19 km south-east of central London.
