Even the B class are not considered too old to do such radical surgery to.
10 years ago, adding a low floor middle to the B's might have been
viable. Not now.
And given the price the Chinese could turn out a complete new 100% low
floor tram, chopping up 40 year old Z cars to turn them into a partial
low floor artic doesn't seem sensible.
The places that did do such drastic changes were eastern European cities
with ruined economies, no cash for new tram cars and a large skilled
workforce looking for work. Any work.
