IN Sydney the FEDERAL Labor Party was responsible for initiating and funding the initial light rail from Central to Wentworth Park.

As for the State Labor party and trams I will refrain from comment lest my choice of words incurs the wrath of our moderator.

It was part part of the policy initiative "Building Better Cities" which also funded at least the earliest order of Z cars.
