180803F Melbourne 'Herald Sun':
- bikes on footpaths.
- energy, gas. with tdu.
- transport election issue.

Roderick.

Fri.3.8.18 Metro Twitter.
17.41 Alamein/Belgrave/Glen Waverley/Lilydale lines: Minor delays (an
earlier train fault, congestion and inclement weather).
18.20 Cranbourne/Pakenham lines: Minor Delays (an ill passenger at
Caulfield).
18.33 Werribee line: Minor Delays (an equipment fault near) Laverton.
Inbound & outbound services will run via Altona [which restricts capacity].
- 18.43 Still minor. Inbound services will run direct Laverton to Newport.
Outbound services will run via Altona.
- 18.47 The train to Werribee is stuck between Newport & Laverton. How long
before the service goes back to normal and this train picks up the pace.
There have been no announcements inside the train.
- 18.52 Now Major Delays, still with inbound running direct and outbound
via Altona.
- 19.07 More like a MELTDOWN!
- 19.18 Drivers need to announce each time they do the procedure past a
signal. 18.20 Werribee, one announcement for four; each time people have
almost fallen.
- 19.21 Yes, I dropped my phone and I'm sitting down...fun times.
- 19.25 A poor mother almost had her child face plant twice.
- 19.26 Major Delays reducing. Inbound & outbound Werribee services will
return to running express between Newport and Laverton. Laverton services
will return to stopping all at stations via Altona.
- 19.31 Your announcements from the 'network control centre' are useless and
cause more frustration than they reduce. Not much point explaining the
bleeding obvious then directing people to a website which has no new
information. Clap clap.
20.05 Belgrave/Lilydale lines: Major delays (vandalism in the Ringwood
area).
23.47 Craigieburn/Sunbury/Upfield/Werribee/Williamstown lines: Minor delays
(police attending to a trespasser near North Melbourne).

Melbourne Express, Friday, August 3, 2018.
Bicycle Network wants cyclist of all ages to be able to ride on the
footpath.
In Victoria, children can ride their bikes where pedestrians walk until age
12. The law was changed in NSW recently to raise the age until 16.
8.38 Delays on a number of bus routes this morning because of heavy traffic.
