I’m pleased you liked it Tony.

Your seating preference observations are basically correct but I have noticed that there is more to the story.

When all the forward facing window seats are taken, second choice seems to be the backwards facing seats rather than facing forward sitting next to another person who often is clearly travelling with the facing forward window seat passenger.

Some people would clearly prefer to stand than sit next to a stranger, although some standees do so because they can chat in a group.

Noticed this morning around 7:30 that although the tram had virtually a full seated load, I could well have been alone as not a voice was heard along the reservation.

As usual most passengers got off at the hospital and university stops, there being plenty of empty seats to the terminus.

A number also got off at Southport, some of them school kids heading for the buses.

Perhaps commuter loadings may have picked up a bit closer to 9am. I have no idea what northbound commuting is like.

Thankfully tram 11 is once again advertisement free, joining 16, 17 & 18.

Thank you for your usual high standard and informative work Richard.

I couldn't help noticing that on the partly filled trams, the seated passengers went for the forward-facing seats or the sideways ones and people were standing in spite of empty rear facing seats - and a couple of people who sat in rearward facing seats swung themselves around sideways to at least look forward! There must have been a lot of New South Welsh riding the trams, no other possible explanation .... ;)
