It's a realistic one - and one I have considered myself.
Major barrier is the need to cross the Tullamarine freeway between the tramway and the airport.
The freeway entrance and exit ramps in that area take up a lot of space and the only current bridge at English St is already very congested..

Another option would be the (heavily polluted) defence land at West Maribyrnong - which would not be too bad a location to serve 82 and 57 and could be linked to 59 via  a direct connection in Maribyrnong Rd between Ascot Val Rd and Mt Alexander Rd.

Third option would be to extend 59 up Melrose Dve and put the depot on one of the industrial blocks in that area.

Mal Rowe - who has been known to hear Melrose Dve as Mal Rowe's Dve!
