Glasgow's Great Western Rd
  Mal Rowe

The attached pic is from the wonderful collection of the State Library
of Victoria (Australia).

It shows a Glasgow tramway scene in the early 20th century and was
gifted to the library by Victoria's Department of Transport in 2014.

I'm fairly confident that it was part of the evidence in a debate in
Melbourne about the planned extension of electric tramways into the city
(replacing cable trams) in the early 1920s.

The debate was about centre poles vs span poles and whether street
lighting should be attached to the tramway poles.  The MMTB didn't
favour lighting attached to centre poles as they thought that would mean
the tram steps would be in the shadow.
