Sydney trams were infested with advertising for Vincents APC and Bex, both of which contained Phenacetin
Have a cup of tea, a Bex and a good lie down went the ad. Take too many Bex and your good lie down would be permanent, phenacetin was banned in America from 1983.

Back in the days when radios were actually made in this country, but of course the cost of buying them was extremely high. Radios were the superheterodyne - what a name which seems to belong to the 1930s.
Bringing us back more on topic, I recall the LT trains referred to as using Metadyne control, I don't know whether the same traction principles were applied to tramways.
