Modern fixed truck trams don't lend them selves to bogie exchange. They
also don't lend them selves to being coupled into trains and pulled.

The Trans Perth trains in the other hand were just put on transfer
bogies and treated like any other wagon for freight consignment.

Unsure if they managed to have brakes while on transfer bogies or they
had to be treated as an unbraked load.
But even with all that - being a train, it's designed for the buffing
load and can be hauled. Try to haul a few Citadis like that and I
suspect you will end up with several half Citadis.
