Hi all,
I've actually stopped including URL's for photos recently. There are two main reasons for this:
1. I was the only person doing it - so it seemed that listmembers
were coping with all the other postings without that extra bit of
support. (Noel's inclusion of URLs is a result of him copying pics
from the archive using his iOS system which automatically adds the url)
2. The URL I used to add at the time of posting was simply the TDU
web address with the picture filename added.
A recent example is: http://tdu.to/122-2070_ElizabethSt_13Dec2017.JPG
However, the *REAL URL* where the full image ended up is
https://tdu.to/i/58223
That meant that Malcolm Miles had to add extra code to the archive to handle my notional URL - extra complication and another thing to possibly go wrong.
Given that pics are readily available in the archive, I decided to stop putting in the 'notional' URL.
On the topic that Rod Smith has been mentioning - the failure of the Yahoo website to save pictures - that's less of an issue for TDU as we have the independent TDU archive.
In summary, if you want the best option, it's definitely individual emails.
The TDU archive (non-Yahoo) is a great backup resource.
If you go for the 'Daily Digest' option, then you will have to do a bit of work to get the pics you want.
