That’s interesting. I might even see them on the backs of trucks near Hornsby.

The last ‘tram’ I saw on the back of a truck near Hornsby was the original SPER Cadillac rail motor on its way back to the Richmond Vale railway near Cessnock. Noel Reed.

The required paperwork would have cost more than the road haulage costs :-)

One of the independent rail maintenance contractors moves their rail
plant around between jobs on the backs of trucks. Appears it's cheaper
to lift a Plasser tamping machine onto the back of a semi and take it by
road that to get a path to drive it self propelled between jobs.
