Last week I was a little surprised to see that Yarra have retained a
couple of ASEA trucks (from Z1/2 trams) as workshop trucks.  A bit odd
given that there are no trams left on the system that have ASEA trucks. 
They appear to be new - or at least newly painted.

What's also odd is that the trucks are still fitted with the magnetic
track brakes - presumably non functional without any control circuitry.

By the way, look how much bigger the wheels are on a Z by comparison
with a W2 (the MMTB 1B truck at right of the pic).

This week another puzzle: 160 was being loaded onto a low loader. 
That's usually for a one way trip to the scrap yard, but this car was
still fitted with all it's 'goodies' including lights and myki readers.
